Reddit Reflection Artifact #1: Flashback! The Internet In 1995 | Archives | TODAY https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=95-yZ-31j9A This source is an original report on when computers and the internet were beginning to become popular. One statement I found interesting was when one of the reporters said, "Isn't it crazy that people are talking to people they don't know?" In modern times, this isn't even a question, as people make friends or start dating people from apps that they would have never met without the internet. Artifact #2: Early 1990's Internet Commercial https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s1_yx_Eg9v4 This source is an original commercial from the 90s that is advertising the use of the internet. While the previous source was being critical, this one is praising it and encouraging people to give it a try. It emphasizes how useful and helpful the internet can be, as well as how to use it in your own life. However, it also somewhat shows how reliant people can ...

Unit 2 Reflection Throughout my research, I looked at the difference between having too much homework and lacking proper time management skills, and which of these factors played the most significant role. This was an important topic for me because in the past, and sometimes now, I struggled with time management. I also have a demanding course load that I feel like takes up a lot of hours from my week. Some days it feels like it is never ending, but through my research, I have found new strategies on how to organize time spent on homework. I chose the audience for this project based on who I thought was most relevant to the topic. College students often struggle with managing time for social interactions, classwork, and extracurriculars, so I wanted to understand more about why this happens. Before my research, I assumed that it was mainly the quantity of work that was assigned that was the primary cause of stress. However, as I dived deeper into my topic, I found that time...

Abundant Work or Lack of Time? Academic stress among Syracuse University students is the result of a lack of time management skills, but mainly due to overly demanding coursework that varies severely based on majors. My research is focused on determining how college students are being treated within Syracuse University. I want to know if students struggle because of a lack of time management skills or because the enormity of work being assigned is unattainable. I believe that it is a mix of both that causes excess stress within people's lives. As a college student, I understand how endless work feels, and I think it has a large part to do with people's majors. I created a survey to gather data on local college students and their personal opinions on the topic. In addition to this, I conducted an interview with a current college student. Source Analysis #1: "Time-Management, Google-Survey" by Adriana Stoltman My first source is the survey I created on Google Surv...

Library Field Trip: I went to Bird Library, which is on campus! It's only a 5-minute walk from my dorm, and it was actually quite nice outside this weekend. Below on the left is what it looks like to walk into the building, and the picture on the right is on the second floor. The inside mostly looks like an office building with some book stacks. Below was my view from the Pages cafe. I love sitting here and getting work done because of the view outside, and it's a pretty cozy place. They also sell very delicious breakfast sandwiches! Here are some pictures of me looking at books! I decided to sit down and read an older book called Heroines of Service by Mary Parkman for a little bit in honor of women's history month just starting. This book was filled with anecdotes of women who dedicated their lives to social reform. From what I read, it was fairly captivating! History of Bird Library and me: I think going into a space dedicated to learning definitely helps me to stay b...
